Are free images full size?
No - to get full resolution you will need to upgrade to a paid plan. Maximum width or height for free images are around 400 to 650 pixels. Upgraded plans offer full resolution.
How do I fix extra space getting added to the bottom or side of the image?
If your product is clipped or cut off, the extra negative space added for in all directions is unnecessary. Fortunately Shopify provides a native tool inside their image editor that allows you to crop off this unwanted space.
Head over to the product admin in Shopify and click on the image to expand it. You should see a crop option and be able to crop it back to bleed.
